The rail communications between Khulna to Dhaka and Khulna to Rajshahi have been cut off after a bogie of a freight train derailed at Singia Railway Station in Jessore.
Monirujjaman, sub-inspector(SI) of Government Railway Police in Jessore, said the bogie was derailed at point no 10 of the station around 4:10pm when it was on it's way to Syedpur from Khulna on Tuesday afternoon.
As the point was on the Jessore-khulna highway crossing, it caused road communications suspention for one and a half hour there, he added.
The SI said a Khulna bound train from Dhaka also got stuck at Jessore rail station for this accident.
"Railway officials have been conducting rescue operation to restore rail communications," the official said.
This is the third incident of derailment at the same place in the past three months.
Earlier on February 17 and March 17, two cargo trains were derailed at the spot.
