Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has said government will be compelled to arrest BNP chief Khaleda Zia if she does not surrender before the court.
The minister made the statement in a press briefing at the secretariat on Sunday afternoon.
Inu said: “If she [Khaleda] does not show respect towards the law and refuse to surrender, then government will be compelled to arrest her.”
“The dialogue table is not for her rather her place is in Kashimpur jail as she killed many people during hartal and blockade,” he added.
Ruling out Khaleda Zia's claim that a fresh election is the only solution to ongoing crisis, Inu said there is no crisis in the country over election.
He said the government did not obstruct anyone in joining election in the past and it would not bar anyone in future too.
