A multi-storied building has caught fire in the capital's Motijheel commercial area.
Fire Service and Civil Defence Inspector Nilufer Yasmin told the Dhaka Tribune that the fire originated around 3.30pm on Saturday.
“Being informed, nine units of fire fighters and three water cannons rushed to the spot immediately.”
The operation was underway till filing of the report at10:30pm and it will take some more time to put it out completely, said the official.
The extent of the damage could not be known immediately and no report of injury was filed.
