Miscreants have set Noakhali sadar upazila land office on fire by hurling petrol bombs.
Anowar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sudharam Model police station said the blockaders threw petrol bombs at the land office around 4am on Saturday.
Hearing the scream of night guards, locals rushed in and informed fire service.
Valuable files and furniture were gutted in the arson attack, said the OC.
Md Mahbubul Alam, station officer of Maijdee fire station said: "Being informed, Maijdee firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire after 30 minutes of efforts with the help of the locals."
