Wednesday's SSC exams postponed

Update : 03 Mar 2015, 12:47 PM

The government has postponed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations, which were scheduled to be held on Wednesday, as the BNP-led 20-party alliance extended its nationwide general strike till Friday.

Deputy chief Information Officer Subodh Chandra Dhali told the Dhaka Tribune: "The examinations for Wednesday have been postponed. But, no date has been fixed for holding the exams."

The BNP-led 20-party alliance has extended its ongoing 72-hour nationwide hartal till 6am Friday.

The 20-party alliance has been enforcing nationwide general strikes on all weekdays since February 1, despite nationwide SSC examinations in which about 1.5 million students are taking part.

Earlier, the SSC exams were deferred several times due to the hartal.

The Secondary School Certificate and the equivalent examinations began across the country on February 6.
