The American Embassy Employees’ Association (AEEA) club will remain closed on Wednesday due to security concerns in Gulshan area of the capital.
A press release by AEEA management team has come up with the closure notice on Tuesday.
The press release reads, “Due to public speculation that Dhaka police may soon arrest BNP opposition leader, Khaleda Zia, and the possible violent protests that could result, the AEEA Club and Commissary will be closed on March 4.”
The AEEA also expected to resume their regular operations on Thursday, the press release also said.
The association was established to serve the American Community in Dhaka for recreational activities for the American Embassy Employees, their families and other expats residing in Bangladesh.
