Update : 02 Mar 2015, 06:03 AM

Railway service of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong has resumed after a four-and-half-hour halt on Monday morning.

Shayestaganj Railway Station Master Jahangir Alam confirmed about the restoration of the railway service to the Dhaka Tribune.

He said the service resumed around 11:30am.

“A rescue train from Akhaura went to the spot and removed the derailed train from the track,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the railway communication of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong was cut off, as four compartments of an oil-laden train veered off the track around 7am.
