At least three people were killed in road accidents in Natore, Bogra and Gazipur districts yesterday.
Our Natore Correspondent reports: A boy was killed in an accident as a passenger bus hit him in Ekdala area of Sadar upazila.
Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station said a Rajshahi bound passenger bus of ‘Himel Paribahan’ hit Monsur Rahman,30, son of late Moyez Uddin of Koromdorshi village under Bagatipara upazila from behind ,leaving him critically injured while he was crossing the road. Later, he was sent to Natore Sadar Hospital where the attending doctor declared him dead.
In Bogra, a man and his son were crushed under the wheels of a truck at Anantabala village in Shibganj upazila.
The dead were identified as Abu Taher, 35, and his son Riyad, 8, of the village.
Taher’s another son Hridoy, 9, also received injuries in the accident.
Police said a truck, carrying earth for a brick kiln, skidded off the road and ploughed through Taher’s land as the driver lost his control over steering, leaving two dead on the spot and injured one.
Hridoy was admitted to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex. Our Gazipur correspondent said a truck driver was killed in Kaliakoir upazila in the district.
Daud Khan, officer-in-charge of Konabari police station said a passenger bus coming from opposition direction ran over the driver when the driver got down from the truck on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway. On information, police recovered the body.
