A Narayanganj court has sentenced nine people to life-term imprisonment for killing a freedom fighter at Jalkuri-Purbapara of Shiddirganj in 2002.
The convicts are Nur Mohammad Ali, Ahammad Ali, Dil Mohammad, Abdul Kayum, Abdul Malek, Abdul Salam, Iqbal Hossain, Safar Ali and Mohor Ali.
The court also fined them Tk1lakh each and ordered to give the money to the victim's family, BSS reported.
The Additional District and Session Judge Mamunur Rashid pronounced the verdict on Thursday afternoon.
