At least two people have been killed and 45 others injured when a Charmonai Sharif-bound bus carrying pilgrims plunged into a canal at Kajulia in Gopalganj.
The deceased are Ansar Sheikh, 70, son of late Aiyenuddin Sheikh, and Ansar's nephew Mostofa Sheikh, 50, son of Omor Ali.
Gopalganj OC Md Jakir Hossain Molla said the bus plunged into the canal when the driver lost control over the steering wheel around 11:45am on Monday, killing two pilgrims and injuring 45 others.
He said the bus has been recovered from the canal.
