Rock band Aushruto is busy working on a new sound for its upcoming album scheduled for release at the end of 2015.
“We plan to work on the second album throughout the year,” Sunny, the band’s drummer, told the Dhaka Tribune, adding: “Right now, we are taking some time to experiment on the new tracks.”
The band said it plans to release several singles before the finished album hits the market.
Aushruto, meaning “unheard of,” came to prominence with their debut album “Nirban,” released on April 19, 2013 under the label Incursion.
The album featured such hits as “Nirban,” “Karigor” and “Aulikhito Dukkho.” The last title earned the band major success when it won the prestigious MTV Chart Attack Award in 2014.
Apart from the album, the band has released four singles. “Sporsho” was released on a mixed album in 2009. The other three singles are “Eka,” “Alor Gaan” and “Firey Aye.”
The current line up has Shimon on vocal and keys, Sunny on drums and percussion, Sehan on bass, Shuvoon on guitar, Zami on guitar and Ishat on guitar.
Aushruto seems to pop up everywhere. The band has appeared in concerts like the BTV 50 Year Celebration Concert and recently wrapped up the Digital World Conference. “I think it is because we like to play live music,” says Sunny, when asked why he thinks the band has been invited to so many collaborations. “And we are fun to hang out with.”
