Police have recovered the body of a school girl from Mulayed village in Gazipur, sixteen hours after her abduction.
The deceased is Shumona Akhter, 9, daughter of Ainal Hossain and a student of class II at Mulayed Moddhopara Government Primary School.
Police recovered the body from a guava garden at 10am on Friday and sent it to Gazipur Shohid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Shreepur Sub-Inspector Sohel Rana said: “She was missing since 6:30am on Thursday. It is being estimated that she might have been raped and suffocated to death by miscreants.”
