Train communications on Dhaka-Chittagong-Sylhet routes have remained suspended from Thursday evening after the derailment of a compartment of a Chittagong-bound train at Polash upazila in Narsingdi.
Bhairab Railway police station OC Saidul Islam endorsed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said a bogie of Sylhet-bound Kalnee Express train derailed at Ghorashal area of Polash upazila around 7:30pm.
“The accident snapped the rail communications on Chittagong-Dhaka and Chittagong-Sylhet routes.”
A rescue train was set to leave the capital for the spot, the official said.
