Police have recovered six petrol bombs from a sealed room of Suhrawardy Hall in Chittagong University.
The university authorities noticed the bombs and informed the police at 12pm on Thursday.
University Proctor Siraj Ud Dowla disclosed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.
Hall Provost Anwar Syed said: “We opened Room no 122, to allocate it to some students, and found the bombs.”
Suhrawardy Hall has recently been reopened after five months of closure from last August, following a gunfight between the Bangladesh Chhatra League and Islamic Chhatra Shibir.
It is widely perceived Shibir leaders and activists of the university have control over the hall and run their office from the room from where the bombs have been recovered.
