12th death anniversary of Advocate Badiul Alam

Today marks the 12th death anniversary of freedom fighter, politician and advocate Badiul Alam.  

Bborn in 1926 in Fatnagar village in Chandonashi Thana to the Sikder family, Badiul grew up to attend Calcutta University where he received his undergraduate degree in 1946. He then came back to complete his LLB from Dhaka University. In 1971, during the war, he was an Awami League regional president, later taking up responsibility as president of the Socialist Party Chittagong South Division.  

Following the end of the war, in 1972, Badiul became vice-president of the Lawyer’s Association, and the president of the association in 1981. He was heavily involved in charity work, and was member on numerous committees. 

A doa and milad mahfil to mark his death anniversary will be held on February 12 after Asar prayers.
