Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members recovered an abandoned grenade near power supply office in Cherag Ali Market area of Tongi.
RAB 1 Assistant Director Ziaur Rahman Zia said the bomb disposal unit recovered the grenade around 8pm on Sunday.
He said: "It was a very powerful grenade."
Later, the grenade was taken to RAB 1 headquarters at Uttara.
RAB's bomb disposal unit member Major Khalid said the grenade was locally made and improvised.
