Train communication on Chittagong-Sylhet route has been restored after nearly five hours of suspension because of a Chittagong-bound train.
Akhaura station locoshed in-charge Mohsin Uddin Bhuiyan said communication on the route was resumed around 11:30pm on Saturday.
He said Chittagong-bound Nasirabad Express derailed in Gangasagar station area of Akhaura around 7:15pm.
Being informed, a relief train rushed to the spot and cleared the line after about five hours' effort.
