Two people have been killed and at least 10 people injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Osmaninagar upazila of the district.
The deceased are Azir Uddin, 50, and Sayesta Mia, 38, of Nizburunga village of same upazila. Both were the passengers of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw.
Osmaninagar OC Md Mursalin said the Sylhet-bound Shyamoli Paribahan bus from Dhaka collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw near Burunga Bazar area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway around 1pm on Saturday, leaving two people dead on the spot and injured 10 others. Of them, five critical injured were admitted into different hospitals.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, added the OC.
