A garment worker has been killed as a bus ran over him when he was crossing Dhaka-Aricha highway in Ulail bus stand area in Savar.
The deceased was identified as Nur Nabi, 29, son of Shah Alam, hailed from Kaunia upazila of Rangpur.
Nur Nabi lived in a rental house in Ulail under Savar municipal area and worked at local Al-Muslim garment factory.
Police and witnesses said Nur was crossing the road on the way home from the factory after work time on Tuesday evening.
A bus hit and ran over him at that time and quickly fled the scene, leaving him dead on the spot.
The Savar police recovered the body from the spot.
Confirming the accident, Savar OC Abdul Motaleb said the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
However, neither the bus driver nor the bus was detained, he said.
