The helper of a truck driver has been killed and trucker injured after miscreants hurled petrol bombs at the goods-laden vehicle on Chandpur-Comilla highway at Ghosherghat in Chandpur.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained, police said.
Quoting locals, Chandpur model police station Sub-Inspector Abu Sayeed said: “The truck helper was crushed under the wheels of the truck after he and the driver had jumped off the truck when miscreants hurled petrol bomb around 11:45pm on Wednesday.”
The helper died on the spot while the driver sustained severe injuries.
The body was sent to the police station, he said.
Following the attack, a combing operation was underway to arrest the attackers, said Chandpur Police Super Amir Zafar.
