Doctors, students and staff members of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Tuesday urged countrymen to build national solidarity against BNP-Jamat’s countrywide violence and anarchy triggered by the ongoing blockade.
They raised the demand while participating in a human chain in front of central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday noon.
Doctors accused BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia of burning hundreds of vehicles and killing innocent people by hurling petrol bombs and creating violence and anarchy in the name of blockade programme.
They urged the BNP chief to stop killing innocent people including women, children and labourers who survive on daily earnings.
Speaking at the chain, Secretary General of Swadhinata Chikitsok Parishad and Bangladesh Medical Association Iqbal Arsalan criticised Begum Zia for killing innocent people in name of democracy.
He termed Khelada’s movement as “an attempt to save war criminals and to eradicate the inspiration of liberation war.”
DMC Principal Ismail Khan urged Khaleda Zia to visit the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital to see the sufferings of innocent victims of BNP-Jamaat’s petrol bomb attacks.
Among others, Awami League (AL) leader Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, AL Health and Population Affairs Secretary Dr Badiuzzaman Bhuiyan Dublew, Director of DMCH Brigadier General Mostafizur Rahman, and Bangladesh Chhatra League Health Affairs Deputy Secretary Dr Choyon participated in the human chain.
