A woman has been killed over land dispute at Paulpara village under Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali early Sunday.
The deceased is Poly Akhter, 22, daughter of Md Azad.
Quoting the locals and family members, Sonaimuri police station OC Ashraful Islam said Poly's father Azad had a longstanding dispute with his nephew Tarek.
"Following the dispute, Azad and Tarek locked in altercation around 5pm on Saturday. At one stage, Tarek hurled a stone that hit his cousin Poly and she became senseless," said the OC.
He added that Poly was rushed to Sonaimuri upazila health complex where she succumbed to her injuries around 2am.
On information, police recovered the body from the hospital and sent it to Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
A case was filed with the police in this connection. Tarek was made accused in the case.
