Its been almost two weeks when Kareena Kapoor Khan’s morphed picture was used by Vishva Hindu Parishad’s women’s wing as a campaign to target ‘love jihad’.
The actor has reportedly beefed up her security now as she is concerned about her safety. She has hired two bodyguards and has also tightened the security at her Bandra residence.
Earlier this month, the cover of Himalay Dhwani, the mouthpiece of Durga Vahini—the young women’s wing of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, had Kareena’s morphed picture with half of her face covered with a niqab and in the other half, the actress is wearing a bindi and has sindoor in her hair.
Vishva Hindu Parishad’s women’s wing launched a campaign to convert Hindu women who married Muslim men—claiming the ghar wapsi campaign must address love jihad.
When asked why Kareena was chosen for the magazine’s cover, Durga Vahini’s northern India regional coordinator Rajni Thukral had told the Hindustan Times, “She is a celebrity. The youth try to emulate celebrities. They think if she can do so, why not us?”
