State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the government is taking legal steps against Khaleda Zia according to the legal procedure.
The minister made the remarks while an independent lawmaker was walking out from the parliament on Thursday, demanding the arrest of the BNP chief.
Independent lawmaker Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury demanded Khaleda's arrest for what he said giving directives to burn and kill innocent people, BSS reported.
Taking the floor in the House to raise a supplementary question during question-answer hour, he accused Khaleda Zia for burning and killing people in the name of blockade and hartal across the country.
Responding to another question from Jatiya Party member Peer Fazlur Rahman,
the junior home minister informed the House that the prime minister always gives financial support to poor people from her fund.
"If any victim related to blockade and hartal violence would seek financial help, then the prime minister would give support," Asaduzzaman said.
