20 vehicles vandalised in Ashulia

Supporters of 20-party's ongoing blockade programme have vandalised at least 20 vehicles in Kathgora bus stand area on Bishmail-Jirabo road of Ashulia.

At least 10 persons have been injured during the vandalism on Thursday afternoon.

Witnesses said the blockade supporters vandalised about 20 vehicles through hurling stones.

The BNP-led 20-party alliance has been enforcing a nationwide roads and waterways blockade since January 5.

The current blockade has been marked by violence and sporadic clashes between the police and protesters, leaving a number of people killed and injured. More than 30 people have been killed so far.Ashulia police station OC Mostafa Kamal said: "Being informed, police rushed to the spot and then the blockade activists fled the scene.
