The Anti-Corruption Commission has filed five cases against Sreepur municipality mayor Anisur Rahman on charges of graft in recruiting staffs and misappropriation of revenue.
Deputy Assistant Director of the commission Fakhrul Islam filed the cases with Sreepur police station on Thursday afternoon.
Sreepur police station OC Mohsinul Kadir said one Helal Uddin was appointed as jeep driver while Maeen Uddin as truck driver and Nazrul Islam as road roller driver in 2009.
An investigation of the ACC has found the driving lisences of the three drivers fake.
The ACC brought allegation against the municipality authorities of recruiting the three drivers without any scrutiny.
The ACC also accused the municipality mayor for causing loss to revenue income as he had not submitted Tk33,250 revenue collected from a temporary market at Maona Chowrasta and Tk602,050 from a marker at Maona.
