A crude bomb has exploded in an open space between the History and Journalism departments at the Arts building of Dhaka University.
University acting proctor Amzad Ali said the explosion took place around 11:45am on Tuesday.
He said another fresh crude bomb was also recovered from the spot.
Later, the bomb disposal unit of police removed the crude bomb from there.
Meanwhile, the BNP and Jamaat-backed teachers staged a human chain in front of Oporajeyo Bangla demanding dialogue between the political parties to end the ongoing violence.
