Four people have been killed and 20 others injured in a road accident in Betgari area on the Dhaka-Bogra highway near the district town.
The deceased were identified as Habibur Rahman, 40, Ashraful Islam, 45, Taslim uddin, 43 and Antaz Ali, 45, inhabitant of Baliadangi upazila in Thakungoan district, reports BSS.
All the victims were returning homes after attending Ijtema in Tongi, police said.
The accident took place when a goods-laden truck hit a bus, carrying Ijtema devotees, from behind in dense fog in the area at about 3am on Monday.
Four passengers of the bus died on the spot. 20 others were injured in the incident.
The injured were sent to Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
