Locals have beaten six cattle thieves and handed them over to police after they were caught while stealing cattle from a house at Vutulia village in Sreepur.
Nobbes Ali, owner of the house, said: “I informed my sons after seeing two of the thieves stealing cows from my house around 3am on Monday. Hearing their scream, locals rushed inand beaten the thieves up.”
Later, locals also held four other thieves by chasing them. The thieves were handed over to Sreepur model police station around 8am, he said.
Sreepur Model police station Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam said: “The thieves will be sent to jail after interrogation. They are undergoing treatment at Sreepur Health Complex.”
