All the barricades in front of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office have been removed.
No sand-laden trucks, iron barricades or water cannon were seen in the early morning on Monday.
Additional police were also withdrawn from the office of the former premier.
The reporter saw no such barricades at around 2:30am on Monday. However, no confirmation of the police were made whether it was removed permanently of temporarily.
The reporter also saw two cars owned by Khaleda Zia in front of the office where the sand-laden trucks were kept earlier.
Khaleda Zia has been staying in her office for 15 days.
Khaleda was confined at her office on January 3 night while going to the party’s Nayapaltan headquarters. Later she tried to go out of the office on January 5 to join the scheduled rally, but barred. After that, she did not make any attempt to leave her office but announced countrywide blockade for an indefinite period.
However, police authorities and ministers, including the prime minister, denied confining the opposition leader and said the heavy police deployment was in response to Khaleda's request for security.
