Biting cold with chilly wind has been sweeping across the country since yesterday morning.
An on-duty meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorology Department (Met) yesterday, said the temperature will further fall from today (Monday) morning which will continue for the next few days.
People across the country especially the Northern districts including Rangpur and Rajshahi will be the worst sufferers, he added.
He, however, said people began to experience the shivering cold from yesterday morning due to the presence of chilly wind in the atmosphere.
Terming the yesterday’s weather normal in winter, he said the temperature was above 10 degree Celsius yesterday across the country which is quite normal in the month of January in Bangladesh.
Only one single station at Chuadanga recorded the lowest 9.5 Degree Celsius, the met office said.
But, due to the chilly wind and heavy fog, people felt like cold wave sweeping.
According to the met office, mercury level between 8 and 10 degree is considered as mild cold wave, between 6 and 8 degree as moderate cold wave and below 6 degree as severe cold wave.
