Irina Shayk has broken up with Cristiano Ronaldo. The 29-year-old Russian Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and Victoria’s Secret model and the 29-year-old soccer star, world player of 2014 who was Team Portugal’s forward in the most recent World Cup, had dated for five years.
The model’s representative confirmed the news to MailOnline on Saturday. Her spokesperson revealed: “We can confirm Irina Shayk has ended her relationship to Cristiano Ronaldo of five years.” The news followed recent breakup rumours.
The rep added that Shayk “has been close with his family throughout the course of their relationship” and that “any negative rumours with regards to Irina and the Ronaldo family are completely false and have not been a factor in the cause of the spilt.”
According to some reports, the relationship soured after Irina, 29, refused to attend a surprise 60th birthday party for the Real Madrid striker’s mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro.
During their relationship, the two often attended celebrity events together, such as the Professional Soccer League Awards gala in Madrid, Spain last October. Months earlier, they also posed for a racy, intimate cover for Vogue Spain.
