Indian police have detained five members of a Bangladeshi family for staying without valid documents.
The detainees are Mohammad Siddiqui, 48, his wife Parveen Bano, 38, their son Sazid, 19, and daughters Asia, 7 and Alia, 3, police said.
Ghaziabad police detained them from their house at Ali Prem Garden in Sahibabad area on Saturday, Zee News reported.
The family was staying in India since 1991.
During interrogation, Siddiqui told police that before coming to India, he was in the Bangladesh army from where he was cashiered for indiscipline.
After that he sneaked into India with his wife.
In 2006, he was caught by Delhi Police and deported to Bangladesh but he again came back.
All four of his children were born in India.
Inspector Upendra Yadav of the Sahibabad police station they were detained as police did not find any valid document with them. The family will be produced in a court later.
