Update : 17 Jan 2015, 06:58 PM

The ongoing cloudy weather after the late Friday night’s hailstorm is likely to be cleared by today which could bring another spell of cold wave in the country, the Met Office said yesterday.

It rained in different parts of the country, including the capital, early yesterday which was the result of a collision between the easterly wind coming from the bay and the westerly wind from the North, turning the weather cloudy.

But the on-duty meteorologist at the Met Office yesterday said the cloudy weather causing drizzle across the country will be cleared by today the temperature will fall by 1-3 degrees Celsius.

The country will experience another spell of cold wave at the end of the week which is likely to be the last of this season, he said.

After the upcoming mild to moderate cold wave, the temperature will rise gradually, he said, adding that the winter temperature will be milder in comparison with that of the previous year.

The lowest temperature, 10.3 degrees Celsius, was recorded at Ishwardi yesterday.

Besides, the lowest temperature of this winter, 7.2 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Chuadanga and Ishwardi in the first week of the month and the last week of December 2014 respectively.

Last year, Dinajpur saw the lowest temperature, 3.2 degrees Celsius, on January 10, which was also the lowest in the last four decades.
