Thirty five people have been injured in a factional clash between two groups of Chhatra League (BCL) over trifling matter in Dhaka University campus area.
The supporters of Jashimuddin Hall unit BCL President Mehedi Hasan beat up a supporter of Zia Hall unit President Abdus Salam Pradhan Shaon over a trifling matter at 2am on Friday.
Following the incident, both the groups attacked each other equipped with sticks and weapons that triggered the clash.
On information, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Confirming the incident, University Proctor Amzad Ali said: “The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for primary treatment. However, no one was severely injured.”
