An assistant town sub-inspector (ATSI) of Chittagong traffic police has died of cardiac arrest while discharging his duty at Bahaddarhat bus terminal area in the city.
The deceased is Md Isafil, 53, son of Sultan Ahmed Sheikh of Bagerhat. He had served in the police for last 32 years.
Chittagong Medical College Hospital Police outpost ASI Pankaj Barua said Israfil fell sick while he was on-duty at the bus terminal around 7am on Thursday.
He said the on-duty physician declared him dead when taken to CMCH.
