Two people have received burn injuries in arson on a cement-laden truck at Ahmadpur under Boraigram upazila in Natore.
The injured are truck driver Ajoy Kumar Dutta, 32, of Narayanganj and helper Rasel Ahmed, from Rajshahi.
Boraigram OC Monirul Islam said: “Miscreants torched the truck at 4:30am on Thursday. The truck was carrying 220 bags of Shah Cement.”
The injured have been admitted to Natore sadar hospital, the OC added.
Meanwhile, the BNP is observing a dawn-to-dusk countrywide shutdown protesting the attack on its chairperson’s adviser Reaz Rahman.
The alliance has also been observing nationwide non-stop roads and waterways blockade in protest against Khaleda's 'confinement' since January 5.
The relaxed blockade is underway across the country amid sporadic incidents of violence, arsons, vandalism and arrests of BNP members.
