Bangladesh boosted their confidence level for the upcoming Hockey World League Round 2 with a resounding 5-1 victory over Malaysia Under-23 in a practice match in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. Bangladesh came into the game on the back of a 3-1 defeat against Malaysia U-21 in their first warm-up match last Monday.
Yesterday though, the visitors appeared to be a different outfit and stamped their authority with their teamwork. Forward Pushkor Khisa Mimo grabbed a brace while Khorshedur Rahman, Romman Sarkar and Mohammed Ashraful netted one apiece. Romman had also scored the consolation goal for Bangladesh against Malaysia U-21.
Bangladesh will fly to Singapore today to take part in the HWL Round 2, slated to get underway this Saturday. Bangladesh are in Group B alongside Poland, Japan and Mexico.
The Red and Green outfit will play against Oman in their final practice match tomorrow.
