At least 15 people have received burns in a Kerosene container explosion in the district's Baniachang upazila on Wednesday.
Of the injured, Abu Hamza, 15, and Abu Mia, 25, have been admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital while four others to the upazila health complex.
Locals said a fire originated at the shop of one Abu Mia. The fire soon engulfed the entire shop, causing the Kerosene container explosion.
Officer-in-Charge of Baniachang police station Liakat Ali said: “Being informed, we rushed to the spot and rescued 15 injured people from there.”
“Of them, six received severe burns while the others sustained minor injuries.”
