At least 40 garment workers have been injured in a road accident on Dhaka–Aricha highway in Savar on Tuesday morning.
The accident took place at Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) due to dense fog in the morning.
Injured workers said about 60 workers were on the way to the Kajol garment located at Khagan area in Birulia union of the upazila.
When the stuff bus reached at BPATC area, the bus collided with a private car due to dense fog. At the time, the driver lost control over the bus and it fell on the roadside ditch, leaving 40 workers injured.
Officer-in-Charge of Savar highway police station Alamgir Hossain said locals rescued the injured and rushed them to nearby clinics.
Of the injured, Chaiti Akhter Lota, Amena Akhter, Alamin along with another worker were transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), he added.
