A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrant against Supreme Court lawyer Dr Tuhin Malik in a defamation case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shamsul Arefin passed the order on Tuesday afternoon.
A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrant against Supreme Court lawyer Dr Tuhin Malik in a case filed for defaming Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shamsul Arefin passed the order on Tuesday afternoon, as Tuhin Malik did not appear before it despite being summoned.
The court also ordered Shahbagh police station to submit the execution order by February 10.
Golam Rabbani, deputy international affairs secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League, filed three complaints against Dr Tuhin Malik on December 6.
According to the case details, Tuhin Malik made a remark about the constitution and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at a seminar held at Lily Garden Auditorium in London on November 30.
Dr Tuhin Malik said: “All stories of Mujib and his family have been included in the constitution and if anyone tries to take those out, then he will be hanged.”
