Rangamati district administration has resumed curfew in the district effective from 5pm on Monday.
Contacted over phone, an official of the deputy commissioner’s office confirmed the Dhaka Tribune.
Following clashes between between the indigenous people and the ruling party supporters, the district administration imposed the curfew at 8pm on Sunday that ended at 8am on Monday.
The clashed erupted as Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council Chairman Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma (Santu Larma) led PCJSS had been opposing the establishment of medical college in Rangamati.
On Saturday, the opening of the medical college in the hill district triggered clashes between the indigenous people and the ruling party supporters.
Later, local administration imposed section 144 in Rangamati district on Saturday.
