Update : 10 Jan 2015, 12:23 PM

Sizzling ramp model Ruma recently broadened her work arena by performing an item song in the film “Game,” released on January 2, and is expected to perform in another item number for forthcoming film “U-Turn.”

Largely known for her modelling, Ruma expressed enthusiasm for acting in film if the story, character and direction appeal to her.

Talking to the Dhaka Tribune, Ruma said: “If the character in a film suits me and the script,  the director and the production seem sound to me then I will act in it.”

Though she does not have a preference for a specific role on the big screen, she said: “After reading the script, if I felt comfortable portraying the role, I would.”

When asked what interested her in appearing in an item song, she said: “Basically, the director's frequent requests and persuasion made me think of performing an item song for the first time in 'Game.' The response and remarks about the work convinced me to do it again.”

Ruma is looking forward to wrapping up her next shoot for the item song in “U-Turn” on January 24.

Recently she completed shooting the TV drama “Ghun Poka O Shesrater Golpo,” in which she acted alongside Mosharraf Karim. The drama is yet to be aired.

She made her debut on the small screen with a 52-episode serial, “Colour,” and later acted in a few TV plays including “Protibimbo” and “Jenechi Tumi Jano.”

Ruma stepped into the world of glamour in 2002 with inspiration and help from her elder sister Reshma who is a model too.

For the last 12 years Ruma has appeared in numerous modelling ventures at home and abroad.
