Chittagong Nursing College teacher murdered

A female teacher of Chittagong Nursing College has been hacked to death by miscreants at Telipatti of Chawkbazar.

Deceased Anjoli Debi, 50, was a senior teacher of the college.

5 devotees die at Ijtema

Five devotees have died at Biswa Ijtema ground from Friday evening to Saturday morning.

Officer-in-Charge Abdul Momin of district detective branch of police said the devotees died of old age and other health complications.

PM: University in every division

The government has taken a plan to set up one university in every division of the country.

A bus has been set afire in the capital's Tejgaon area on Saturday, the fifth day of the ongoing nationwide blockade.

A person received burn injuries in the incident, fire service control room official Md Forhaduzzaman told the Dhaka Tribune.

Chittagong rail links restored

The railway communications of Chittagong with other parts of the country have resumed after a five-hour suspension as a train derailment at Nagolkot in Comilla.

The communications on the routes resumed 10:40am on Saturday.

A person has allegedly hacked his father to death at Notunkolabari under Bagatipara upazila in Natore.

The deceased is Bolijar Sarkar, 55, son of late Mokshed Sarkar of the same area.

PM pays homage to Bangabandhu

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the Homecoming Day of the great leader.

The premier placed a wreath at Bangabandhu's portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in the city around 7am on Saturday.
