The government has launched the academic activities of 11 new medical colleges through video conference at Gonobhaban.

Speaking on the occasion, Hasina said the government has taken a plan to set up one medical university in every division of the country.
The premier informed that the government would also establish medical university in Chittagong and Rajshahi.
"We need more doctors to serve the people. So we need more medical colleges," she said.
The premier also suggested doctors to concentrate on providing service to patients, not on earning money.
There are a total of 29 public and 54 private medical colleges in the country. Bangladesh Army also runs six other medical colleges.
