Police have detained 11 activists of the BNP and Jamaat-e- Islami on suspicion of violent activities from Pirganj and Sadar upazila during the countrywide blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party.
The special drive was conducted in the district from Thursday evening till Friday morning.
Of the detainees, six are BNP activists while the five others are Jamaat activists.
Thakurgoan sadar police station Officer-in-Charge AKM Mehedi Hasan and Pirganj police station Officer-in-Charge Mokbul Hossain confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the detentions.
