4 Ijtema devotees killed in Dhamrai road crash

Four Ijtema devotees have been killed in a head-on collision between a private car and a truck on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Joypura Bus Stand area in Dhamrai.

The deceased devotees are Nazim Uddin,35, Hafez Muhammad Rois Uddin,32, Nasir Uddin and the private car driver Rezwan,27.All of them are hailed from Jessore to attend Jumma prayer at Ijtema ground.

Kabirul Islam, younger brother of deceased Nazim Uddin confirmed the incident to the Dhaka Tribune.

Dhamrai police station Officer-in-Charge Firoz Talukdar said: “The four passengers of a private car were going to attend the Ijtema when their car collided head-on with a truck on Friday morning."

He said three died on the spot and critically injured Rezwan died in a Dhamrai hospital

The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, added the OC.
