Police have arrested 55 people including 21 BNP-Jamaat activists in a special drive in the district during countrywide blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.
The law enforcers from twelve police stations conducted the drive in the district from Thursday evening till Friday morning, said Sunamganj Police Super Muhammad Harun-Ur-Rashid.
He said: “They were accused in several cases.”
The drive would continue to maintain law and order situation in the area, added the police official.
