Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has said the government was trying to imprison those, who have their involvement in promoting militancy in the country. The minister made the statement while briefing the journalists regarding country’s present political situation at the secretariat on Tuesday morning. Inu said: “The government is not trying to confine the democracy rather we are trying to imprison the politicians, who have promoted militancy.” “Khaleda is favouring the militants and war criminals in order to assume the power. But we cannot let this happen. We will not allow any criminal or militant organisation to form government in Bangladesh.” He also said the government would act cautiously to tackle the leaders involved with militant activities. The minister further said: “She [Khaleda] wants to sacrifice the general people for serving her own interests.” “The attempt of imposing this kind of martial law will not be allowed. Tougher stance will be taken against them [militancy promoters].”
