Angry locals torched a bus after it ran a CNG-run auto-rickshaw over, leaving two people dead and four others injured in the district's Buricang upazila on Thursday.
The deceased are-- auto-rickshaw driver Rony, 30, and Ibrahim Khalil, 42, of the upazila.
The injured taken to a local hospital. Later, they were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Mainamati Highway police station Officer-in-Charge Sohel Ahmed said: “A speedy-driven bus of Asia Paribahan ran the auto-rickshaw over on Dhaka-Chittagong highway near Parihalpara around 12:45pm, leaving two people dead on the spot and four others injured.”
“Following the incident, locals torched the bus. Later, the members of fire service rushed in and put the fire out.”
